Dr Suha Rassam Receives 'Knights of Malta' Medal

On Sunday 1/5/2016 after Holy Mass, a reception by the UK Chaldean Catholic mission was held to honour  Dr. Suha Rassam who was awarded the medal 'Knights of Malta' by the Iraqi Chaldean Patriarch Louis I Sako for her humanitarian and educational achievements.

Dr Rassam, author of the book 'Christianity in Iraq' is a co-founder of ICIN (Iraqi Christians in Need) which was set up in London in 2007 by a group of fellow Iraqis, to provide financial and educational support to Iraqi Christians both in Iraq and in neighbouring countries.

With pride, we are honoured to announce that His Beatitude Mar Louis Raphael I Sako, the Chaldean Patriarch and Head of the Chaldean Catholic Church, awarded Dr Suha Rassam the prestigious medal ‘Knights of Malta' for her life-long humanitarian and educational achievements.

 

The event took place on Monday, 4 April 2016, in Ankawa, North of Iraq at the Patriarch's summer residence and was attended by several bishops and relatives of Dr Suha.

On behalf of our ICIN supporters, we offer sincere congratulations and warmest esteem.
