We arrived at Tintern Abbey at around
11:30 am (drive time from
Surrey
about 2:15 hrs only).
We spend about an of hour
and a half
visiting the place during
which time we were guided
by a very nice and well
informed tour guide. Later on
we toured around the area which
is very picturesque.
At about 2:00
pm we proceeded to Dr. Husni
Habboush's house where
many of the Iraqi Christians
gathered for a very nice BBQ
(photos below). There were
about 45 attendants plus
children.
This event was a great
success not only in having
raised funds in aid of the
displaced Iraqi Christians,
but also having clarified
the aim of the charity to
the attendants and perhaps
the start of new initiatives
to that end.
In the evening we visited
Cardiff Bay (a beautiful
area full of restaurants,
coffee shops and bars, full
of life!)
Tintern
Abbey,
has great history,
William Wordswoth
wrote a poem about
it and the
surrounding area is
a well known beauty
spot in the Welsh
countryside
